There are quite a few ways to record a Line Rider track, and this tutorial will show you 2 ways to record your track.
1st wayIn this tutorial, I use HyperCam2 (Unregistered, no need for registration) and VDubMod 1.5
Download Links:
HyperCam2 - http://www.hyperionics.com/downloads/HC2Setup.exe
VDubMod 1.5 - ftp://mhenr18:kwonsai@ftp.drivehq.com/VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_All_inclusive.zip
For optimum results, restart your computer before starting.
1. Open up HyperCam2, and go into the "AVI File" tab. Set the Record Framerate to 6, and the playback framerate to 6. Set the Frame compression quality to 100%.
2. Open up Line Rider (If you use the standalone, you may get better results) and load up your track. Go back into HyperCam2.
3. Go into the screen area tab, and pick "Select Region". Then drag the box so that it looks like this: The red line is just around where you should select.
4. Open up HyperCam2 and press "Start Rec." Make sure the HyperCam2 window is not over where it will be recording!! Then press play in LineRider, but right after you do, press M. This will force LineRider to play the frames in slow motion. Your track may take up to 10 times longer to play, but the wait is worth it.
5. Once your track has finished playing, stop recording.
6. Extract all of the files from the VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_2_All_inclusive.zip file, and once that is done, open up VirtualDubMod.exe
7. Go File>Open Video File and find your video file that you recorded (Most likely to be found in your My Documents folder).
8. Go Video>Filters and click "Add". Choose the "resize" filter and set the "New Screen Width" to 802 and the "New Screen Height" to 602. Click OK.
9. Then in the Filters screen, select the filter that you just inserted. It will be the only one in the box. Then press "Cropping" in the right-hand bar. Drag the corners so that only the inside of the LineRider window is visible. This will remove the "unregistered Hypercam 2" thing from the top left-hand corner of the video.
10. Go Video>Frame Rate and in the Source rate adjustment panel, select the second option. Then change the frames per second to be 36. This should make the video run smoothly when the video is saved. Increase the framerate if it feels too slow, and decrease it if it feels too fast. Note that in Slow-Mo, Linerider plays your track at 6fps, so setting the framerate to 36 is multiplying 6fps by 6, which gives 36 frames per second in real-time. If that feels too fast, knock the framerate down a bit. If it feels too slow, put the framerate up a bit.
11. Go File>Save As.. and save your video. Do not compress it!
12. Open Windows Movie Maker, and load your video up. Then apply titles, transitions, etc. Once you are done, export your video, but do not compress it. Open the finished video up in VirtualDubMod 1.5 and go File>Save As... and at the bottom of the Save As dialog, choose Xvid as the compression method.
13. Now all you have to do is upload your video onto your preferred video sharing website.
